Arriving for your performance

What time should I arrive?

We recommend arriving as early as possible so that you have plenty of time to collect your tickets, buy a programme, and find your seat. The London Coliseum is an incredible building – and lots of people arrive early to soak up the atmosphere and take a look round.

If you’d like a drink or a bite to eat when you get here, you’ll find one of our bars open from an hour and a half before the show. You’ll be able to take your seat in the theatre auditorium from 25 minutes before the performance begins.

Where do I collect my tickets?

If you selected an e-ticket you can print these at home – they will be attached to your confirmation email and so you can go directly to your seats when you get here.

If you have your confirmation email on your phone you can just open the e-ticket attachment and show that to our staff.

If you’ve chosen to collect your tickets, you’ll need to go to our box office in the theatre foyer.

Bag checks

Unfortunately, in the current climate, there are security checks at the entrance to the theatre, so please ensure you arrive in good time before the performance.

There are also certain items that we do not allow into the theatre so please refer to our food and drink policy below so that you are aware of what you can bring in with you.

Food and drink

Can I bring my own food and drink?

We don’t allow any food or drink purchased from outside the theatre to be brought into the building apart from sealed bottled water. If you have a large bag of shopping with you we’ll ask that you check it into our free cloakroom.

If the bottle of water is opened or partially full, we will ask you to empty it or drink it outside. This is to prevent people bringing in alcohol which has, unfortunately been an issue previously, breaks the terms of our license and can cause disruption to others.

You can refill your bottle from any of the free water dispensers at the theatre bars.

What do I do if I have dietary requirements?

If you have a medical, dietary or access requirement that means you have to bring food or drink into the theatre, we will of course enable you to do this.

If you are able to contact us in advance of your visit that would be fantastic, but if not then please just let our security team know when you arrive so that they and our House Managers can ensure that you are able to take in anything that you require.

It’s really important to us that people with dietary, medical or access requirements can relax and have a wonderful night.

Can I take food and drinks into the auditorium?

Yes, you are welcome to take your water bottle or any drinks bought in the theatre into the auditorium in the plastic cups provided.

We have five bars in the theatre serving food and drink, as well as free water available at every bar and at every level of the theatre.

We offer a selection of snacks for sale at our bars that we have chosen because they don’t rustle and potentially disturb other audience members’ enjoyment of the performance.

We don’t allow our sandwiches or hot food into the main auditorium as it’s just not great for enjoying the performance.

Is there a restaurant?

Yes we have a wonderful restaurant on the lower ground level of the theatre. Called the American Bar Restaurant, it is an elegant Edwardian panelled dining room and the perfect setting for pre-performance and interval dining.

Current Menu

You can book a table and join us two hours before curtain up and return at the interval for pudding.

Theatre facilities

Are there toilets on every level?

Yes, there are toilets on the every level.

What disabled access facilities are there in the building?

Details about disabled access to the London Coliseum can be found on the ENO website. Also there are details specifically for any of our customers who may need a little more time or additional facilities.

Do you have a cloakroom?

Yes – our cloakroom is free of charge and is on the lower ground level of the theatre. We suggest that you take advantage of this facility for bags and coats so that you are free to enjoy the evening unencumbered.
