Access at the London Coliseum

At the London Coliseum we are committed to making theatre available to everyone.

We run an access scheme with the English National Opera which gives audiences with access needs the ability to buy half-price tickets to most shows (subject to availability).

For every performance we have a dedicated Access Supervisor who is on hand to provide additional assistance to customers with access needs.

Should you require assistance please ask a member of staff upon arrival or contact the Box Office prior to attending to let us know how we can help you have the best experience possible.

For more information, or if you need assistance completing the registration form, please talk to us on Live Chat or email: [email protected]

If you use a wheelchair or a mobility scooter

We have the following dedicated spaces and provisions for wheelchair users:

  • two wheelchair spaces in the stalls, two wheelchair spaces in the dress circle and four wheelchair space in the stalls boxes
  • transfer seats for those who are able to transfer out of their wheelchairs – four in the dress circle and six in the balcony
  • adapted unisex toilets on four out of five levels of the London Coliseum: basement, stalls, dress circle and balcony
  • two lifts – including one in the main foyer – which provide access to most levels of the auditorium and to all bars and restaurants

Wheelchair spaces and transfer seats can be booked by calling the box office on 020 7845 9300. Take a look at our seating plan.

Guide dogs and assistance dogs

Guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome inside the auditorium, although we are always delighted to look after your guide or assistance dog during the show – the choice is yours.

We will provide your dog with a water bowl, and can take them for walks during the show.

Surtitles at the London Coliseum

For Spirited Away, as the show is in Japanese, there are three screens in the auditorium which display the English translation. These are placed as follows. One is above the stage and there is one on each side of the stage. At least one screen is visible from all seats.

For English National Opera performances, even though they sing opera in English, they use one screen above the stage to project English surtitles (not to be confused with subtitles, although they are more or less the same thing) so that your eyes can pick up what your ears might have missed. There are some seats in the London Coliseum where the view of the surtitles screen is restricted.

The screens used at the London Coliseum are black with yellow writing.

Parking near the London Coliseum

There are limited accessible parking in St Martin’s Lane and in Charing Cross Road. However, these do get snapped up very quickly so we don’t recommend that you rely solely on them.

You can book your central London parking in advance at the following Q-Park car parks: Burlington, Chinatown, Leicester Square, Marble Arch, Oxford Street, Park Lane.

Book Parking

Please note, at times it may be advised to book parking in advance with Q-Park.

More information about disabled parking in the area is available on the Westminster Council website.
